Meet Temple Grandin

Dr. Temple Grandin is a leading advocate for autism awareness and a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. Diagnosed with autism and nonverbal until age three and a half, Temple overcame early challenges, including bullying and academic struggles, to pursue her passion for animal behavior. With the support of her mother and teacher, she earned a Master’s and Doctoral degree in animal science, revolutionizing livestock handling practices while raising global awareness about autism.

Temple’s work has earned her numerous accolades, including being named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2010 and her induction into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in 2017. She has been a professor for over 20 years and is known for her TED Talk on autistic thinking, which has over 6 million views.
